| Feast Bowl/Shield
22"w x 5"h |
This large feast bowl is made from West-coast red cedar. The two-headed serpent on the "bottom" is made by combining half of a two-headed Pacific Northwest serpent called a Susilut with half of a Celtic two-headed dog-serpent and is intended to represent the merging of Celtic and West Coast native cultures when contact was made by the Scottish explorer Simon Fraser - the first white man to travel overland to the Pacific coast. Original made for the Two Trees Project sponsored by Simon Fraser University in Burnaby BC, Canada. Similar item available by commission. |
